CBA Concepts: Insured Property
The contractor move feature can be used to move contractors to other motor carriers (or divisional motor carriers) set up in CBA.
A contractor move will move all of the units that are associated with the contractor.
1. Navigate to the Contractor you wish to move. Underneath the unit grid on the contractor page, click ‘Move Contractor.’
In this example, we are going to move Contractor George Smith from ‘Acme Carrier Inc” to ‘Fast Carriers’, effective 6/6/2008.
2. After clicking ‘Move Contractor’, an in-place wizard will appear at the top of the contractor page.
3. The effective date of the move defaults to the current date. However, clicking on the date will open a calendar where you can select a different effective date.
4. There are two methods to a contractor move: 1) Push – Existing coverages are moved and coverage history of the motor carrier association is not kept and 2) Reissue – Existing coverages are reissued and coverage history of the motor carrier association is kept.
The contractor move defaults to a ‘move’ or ‘push.’
If a reissue is preferred, click on ‘click here to reissue instead” The message should update to:
If you are unsure which method to use, please contact your CBA administrator. Moving (i.e. pushing) or reissuing coverage may impact billing and reporting.
5. Once you have confirmed the effective date of the move and the method which to move the contractor, simply navigate to the carrier the contractor should be moved to.
Click ‘Move contractor here’. In this example to a carrier called ‘Fast Carriers.’
You may cancel out of the wizard at any time.
6. Once the contractor has been moved, you will see it appear in the contractor listing of the destination motor carrier.
On the contractor page, you will be able to view the contractor move history.
Below is the coverage list on the unit page of George Smiths’ unit.
